General

At Epoptia Cloud MES, you can create realistic logic for the automated distribution of the work orders.

Requirements:

  • One out of 3 workstations in the same production stage should perform the task
  • When finishing a production stage, all the following workstations must perform the tasks in parallel and meet again
  • The next workstation cannot start the task before the previous one finishes it
  • The next workstation must start the task for preparation purposes

Below, you can find how your production can be as agile as possible with automated and smart workflows (Functionality derived straight from real needs).

Feel free to combine all functionalities.

And/OR statements

AND Statement

In the example below, you can observe an AND scenario.

After the Laser Cutting workstation, the work order must pass through ALL THE NEXT workstations Bending Machines 1, 2 & 3.

In order to configure this function, click the "Gear Icon" and choose the AND statement in the Laser Cutting workstation.

OR Statment

In the example below, you can observe an OR scenario.

After the Laser Cutting workstation, the work order must pass through ONE OF THE NEXT workstations Bending Machines 1, or 2, or 3.

If one workstation "Starts" the work order, it will disappear from the others.

In order to configure this function, click the "Gear Icon" and choose the OR statement in the Laser Cutting workstation.

Transportation rules between workstations

Work orders are transported from one workstation to another automatically.

The following are the rules that apply to transportation.

FREE Pass

When a workstation is configured as a FREE pass, the operator can start the work order independently if any previous action has been made.

In the image below, "Packaging" can start the work order even if any of the previous workstations did not "START" or "FINISH" any quantity (The only condition required is to have started from Laser Cutting).

Semi-Strict Pass

When a workstation is configured as a Semi-Strict pass, the operator can "Start" the work order only if the previous workstation has "Started" the specific work order (Without completed quantity).

In the image below, "Assembly" can start the work order only if "Welding" has started the work order and without any quantity completion.

Strict Pass

When a workstation is configured as a Strict pass, the operator can "Start" the work order only if the previous workstation has "Finished" at least some quantity of the specific work order.

In the image below, "Welding" cannot start the work order before all of the 3 "Bending Machines" finish a quantity of the work order (Bending machines with AND statement).

In order to configure transportation rules, click the "Gear Icon" of the workstations.
